Bolt fancies a long shot
USAIN BOLT has been inspired by Jesse Owens to compete in the long jump.
Bolt won his third gold at the World Championships on Saturday with the Jamaican 4x100 metres team, repeating his success at last year's Olympics.
But yesterday Bolt, 23, told how he had been inspired by Owens, who won four golds in the same Berlin stadium at the 1936 Olympics.
He said: "I've told my coach I'd love to try the long jump before I retire. I'd be very good at it."
He also hinted that he may step up to the 400m at some point.
Bolt broke 100m and 200m world records on his way to gold and was the star of the World Championships.
He will now travel to Zurich to compete over 200m on Friday before running the 100m in Brussels two weeks later.
Bolt, speaking at a celebration party hosted by the Jamaican Tourist Board, said: "It's been a wonderful championships.
"I'm tired but I've got everything I wanted so I'm just happy.
"I'll party when I get back to Jamaica."
